W Lawrence was born in San Francisco, California, and moved two dozen times before settling in Pennsylvania with his extraordinarily patient wife and two precocious daughters. He has finally balanced the delicate hormonal levels of his home by getting a boy dog. He was trained as a Counter-Intelligence Agent for the United States Army and worked in the world of corporate security as an investigator and professional interviewer/interrogator for 17 years.

His first novel, Syncing Forward, was self published in 2014, and since garnered multiple awards. In 2015, Lawrence signed a deal with Podium Publishing who produced an audiobook of Syncing Forward. The narrator, the talented Will Damron, won Best Fiction Narrator at the esteemed SOVAS awards in 2016.

In 2017, Lawrence had plans to publish a series of novelettes as a spin-off to Syncing Foward, but a tragedy struck and writing went on hold for years.

In 2024, Lawrence completed his first full length novel entitled Amara and hopes that this will publish by the end of the year. Other plans include a twisty time travel novel One Way Window and 12 Minutes 47 Seconds, which is based on the true events the author went through in September 2017.
